Kippy the Chippy was born out of a desperate need for change. For us, property maintenance isn't just a job; it is a way to advocate for our community. Having survived a lifetime of hardship, we made a choice: we want to be the shield that protects others from what we went through.
We spent years working for companies that prioritized profit over people like cutting corners on builds and creating dangerous, unprofessional environments. We witnessed site cultures that ignored mental health, where tradies were yelled at to the point of dissociation, and where the safety of female and marginalized workers was completely disregarded.
We lived through those systemic failures, and we refuse to repeat them. Because there was no truly inclusive and safe space for tradies or clients in our area, we decided to create one. Our ultimate dream is that by building a successful, trauma informed, and highly skilled business, we can lead by example and inspire the rest of the construction industry to finally change for the better.
KTC is committed to changing the face of the Australian construction industry. We proudly support women and gender-diverse people in trades by providing a trauma informed, zero discrimination alternative to traditional services.
We believe that your gender identity or expression should never be a barrier to feeling safe at work or in your own home. By choosing KTC, you are supporting a business that actively fights against the toxic cultures of the past to build a more inclusive, respectful future for all West Australian tradies.
